The ancient Inca did not actually have any form writing. They had a different way of storing information called quipus. They used a series of knots, different number of knots, different sized knots, different colours and the distance between knots were how they understood it. Mainly only the accountants (Quipucamayocs) of Inca would learn Quipus.

The Inca people were very advanced for their time when it came to surgery. The doctors in Inca were performing successful skull surgery's by the 1400's with a survival rate of around 85 percent. The most common brain surgery performed was a trepanation, they would drill holes through the skull to relieve the pressure in the brain. We still use similar procedures today. There were three types of doctors, first was called a wattuck. His job would have been to find the problem for the patient, figure out its origin and then track how their patient is reacting. The second doctor was called a hanpeq, they were experts in medicine. There job would be to find the cure for the sickness or find out what is needed to treat the patients injuries. The third doctor was called a paqo. The paqo would have been in charge of helping to heal the soul, the Inca believed that the heart is where the soul is in our body's.
